WALTER ANDRADE
SALCINI
Artist NMJ
Walter Andrade Salcini was born in Callao, Peru, in 1962. His musical career began at the age of
16. He took his first steps as a musician by singing with El Combo Espectáculo Creación. Shortly
thereafter, he joined another orchestra called Raíces de Callao. This pivotal move propelled his
musical journey, leading him to be hired by the renowned orchestra Candela.
Subsequently, Walter transitioned to the Saraba All Stars Orchestra, where he recorded his
debut album titled “La Última La Traigo Yo.” His artistic path continued as he joined La Estrellas
de la Máquina, contributing to their second album, “Más Caliente que Nunca.”
However, it was on the international stage that Walter truly made his mark. Singing alongside
salsa legends such as Andy Montañez, Oscar D’ León, Celia Cruz, and Marvin Santiago, he
solidified his reputation. Yet, the pinnacle of his career came when he became one of the lead
vocalists for Tommy Olivencia from Puerto Rico. With Olivencia, Walter embarked on
international tours, captivating audiences across South America, Europe, Asia, and the United
States.
Walter Andrade Salcini’s voice and passion have left an indelible imprint on the world of music.
His story is one of perseverance, dedication, and the universal language of rhythm.
